One of our young people was challenged by their school to take a pound and turn it into much, much more. Taking the challenge on they bought sweets and a jar with their pound and charged people 20p to guess how many sweets there were in that jar. So far, they have multiplied that initial investment by 1,000% and plan to go much further. The massive return for their initial pound took them round the staff and young people but then out into the community, knocking on doors, explaining why they were there and taking guesses from each person who met them. As an exercise in community engagement, understanding how to be entrepreneurial and engaging with the school, they showed incredible initiative, confidence and understanding – well done them!!
