"A key principle is that the child is in charge of his or her own life, and the carer works alongside them rather than dictating to them" Social Pedagogy
We aim to offer a diverse service that can adapt to the young person’s evolving needs. We are committed to supporting young people as far as we can into independent living and to equip them with the skills to be successful adults. Following on from residential care, where young people are encouraged to build trusting relationships with those who care for them, we strive to support young people with the transition from residential care to independent living utilising these relationships.
We have the option to source independent accommodation for the young person and provide seamless support based on their personal care plan. Alternaltively an outreach service could be provided where Inspire Scotland supports young people within their own tenancy.
We currently have supported independent living facilities currently available. This offers the opportunity for a young person to live within the community independently with varying levels of support based on the individual's needs and abilities.
