Every Inspire employee is to be trusted with the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people living under our care, placing huge importance on training and best practice in how our staff are equipped to do their jobs.

The Inspire Pedagogy is the underlying framework that defines our Culture, a trauma-informed methodology based on The Solihull Approach that incorporates a range of the most up to date approaches and insights used across the care industry.

The principles of the Inspire Pedagogy promote harmonious, collaborative relationships between care professionals and children and young people that are built on mutual respect, trust and unconditional appreciation. We have a dedicated Professional development Coordinator whose role is to support staff in getting to grips with this comprehensive model of service delivery, ensuring they are optimally skilled and prepared to fulfil their roles.

I feel like Inspire Scotland is committed to me and have always fought my corner. I feel I have made real life long connections with some of the staff.
— Young Person

All of Inspire senior management team have direct care work experience and have reached their position organically, through long experience in the sector. This hands-on knowledge of what frontline staff deal with daily on the ground goes all the way up the chain, meaning the expectations put on care staff are realistic, and management are equipped to support staff when the more challenging aspects of the job arise.

I joined Inspire Scotland when they were a brand new organisation with only one service. Over my 7 years at Inspire Scotland they have grown into a well established care provider, something I have enjoyed being a part of.  Since joining, Inspire Scotland has made a real investment in me through training, qualifications and opportunities to progress. I really enjoy my job, despite the challenges that you would expect from working in social care at times. My colleagues and management have always been approachable and supportive. I have no intention of moving on and would encourage anyone interested in working in social care, particularly with young people to give Inspire a go.

Every member of the Inspire team is as important as the life-changing work we do. This is reflected in our Vision and Values for the Future of Residential Care at Inspire.

To ensure that Inspire is as inclusive as we can be we are currently working through the LGBT Youth Scotland Charter programme.  This makes sure we are meeting all legislative requirements and that our training, policies and practices are appropriate and fit for purpose.  You can find out more about the charter here.
