Glasgow and surrounding areas – Rutherglen, Carluke, Motherwell & Uddingston

Hours: minimum 24 hrs per week

Contract – Part-time permanent

Salary: £26,499 - £29,241 pro rata per year (this includes minimal sleepover pay, with the potential for an additional £1,650 and overtime at £15.58)

Inspire Scotland have a new opportunity for a Cluster or Peripatetic Residential Child Care Worker to work on a part-time, permanent basis.

The role offers you stability with the additional benefit of varied work. It is ideally suited to someone who is flexible throughout the working week, nights and weekends, providing an opportunity to interact with different employees and children, within a cluster of homes.

You will work as a team, building long lasting relationships with our children and young people. You will accompany our young people to and from school or college, facilitate family contact, create a warm and comforting environment, have fun and go on days out as well as shopping, cooking, cleaning and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies.

Previous experience in Residential Child Care is extremely beneficial, however there are many transferable skills for this role. You need to have a dedicated and resilient approach as well as an extremely caring and nurturing nature.

What we expect from you:

  • Have previous experience working in a residential setting with young people or adults or personal relevant experience and the right values to make a difference

  • Have flexibility in the roles undertaken

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations

  • Support daily living tasks, activities, medication and accompanying our young people out in the community

  • Full driving licence

  • Obtained, or willing to work towards HNC / SVQ 3 in Heath & Social or equivalent
